I made a plan, paid off my debt in three years and ultimately became a millionaire in my thirties. Today, I run a coaching business called Crush Your Money Goals, where I teach others how to make their money work for them. Regardless of how much wealth I continue to build, these are seven frugal habits that I don't intend to quit— no matter how much money I have. I've even repurposed those extra toothbrushes and toothpastes to clean my shoes when they've gotten dirty from long walking tours. Why these frugal habits will always mean so much to me

Fast-food giants are rapidly deploying more order kiosks in the US. AdvertisementMajor US fast-food chains plan to aggressively add more digital order kiosks to their restaurants – and bring in bigger checks in the process. They make up "well over" half of its in-restaurant orders at these locations, CFO Katie Fogertey told investors in November. As well as labor savings, kiosk orders "tend to skew to dine-in" and thus use less packaging than other digital orders, she said. In the US, digital orders currently make up just 15% of Burger King's sales.

The Bird sandwich from Nona features roasted turkey, brie cheese, bacon, and guacamole. Anneta Konstantinides/Business InsiderWe first tried The Bird, a $16 sandwich with roasted turkey, mayonnaise, brie, bacon, guacamole, pickled red onions, and escarole, all on a toasted roll. Turkey and brie is a classic pair, but the pickled red onions and guacamole infused them with a creamy and tangy brightness. The $18 sandwich, also on a toasted roll, features Italian ham, Calabrese salami, baby Swiss, roasted peppers, olive relish, Parmigiano Reggiano, arugula, and basil. I thought it'd be impossible to beat The Bird, yet The Italian does so easily.

Chipotle customers in California should brace themselves for higher menu prices this year. The law will put fast-food workers' wages up to $20 an hour from April. Minimum wages for California fast-food workers will increase to $20 an hour in April under a law signed by Gov. The new legislation, known as AB 1228, won't just bring a wage increase in April. Chipotle, which has roughly 115,000 workers, spent $2.44 billion on labor in 2023, up about 11% from the previous year.

I tried 28 dips and spreads from Trader Joe's to see which would be the best for a Super Bowl party. As a regular connoisseur of Trader Joe's salsas and spreads, I decided to try some of the chain's most popular dips. So it was unsurprising that Trader Joe's upgraded version of this familiar favorite turned out to be one of the standout dips I tried.

Once again, Chipotle is staffing up ahead of " burrito season ." And once again, the people are asking: "What the hell is burrito season?" Burrito season, the company says, represents its busiest time of the year. When I asked a spokesperson for Chipotle to shed some light on the mysteries of burrito season, her answer was both straightforward and perplexing. But after confirming the existence of burrito season, I was still left with two big questions.

If you’re celebrity chef Bobby Flay, there’s no need to panic or turn to take-out menus. Bobby Flay came by CNN's Hudson Yards office in Manhattan to give CNN's Wellness team some food tips. Bobby Flay: I’m always ready. You take some onions and garlic, you sweat it (cook them in a little oil or butter to soften them, without taking on any color). REUTERS/Andrew Kelly/File PhotoJuly 26 (Reuters) - Chipotle Mexican Grill (CMG.N) missed Wall Street estimates for quarterly sales on Wednesday as a pause in months-long price hikes hurt its top line, sending the company's shares down nearly 9% in extended trading. California-based Chipotle also projected current-quarter comparable sales to grow in the low- to mid-single-digit range, while analysts on average expected a 6.01% increase. Like other restaurants, Chipotle has hiked menu prices to offset the impact of higher input costs of everything from beef to potatoes. Chipotle was not seeing any weakness in the lower-income consumer despite high inflation, CEO Brian Niccol said in a post-earnings call.

Chipotle CEO Brian Niccol sat down with CNBC's Jim Cramer on Wednesday to discuss the Mexican fast food chain's earnings and the "Autocado" robot prototype. "And, frankly, our supply chain team, our operators, have done a great job of managing labor, managing costs along the way." Niccol also touted Chipotle's "Autocado" robot prototype. He said the 'Autocado' not only makes workers' jobs easier, but it allows them to recover faster if they find they haven't prepared enough guacamole for the day. "We challenged our team to come up with a robotic or an automated solution, and we've got one that's a prototype, it's the 'Autocado,'" Niccol said.

CNN —Your Chipotle guacamole may soon be prepared by a robot. Meet “Autocado,” a Chipotle robot designed to perform the more tedious tasks of creating the chain’s guacamole, including cutting, coring and peeling avocados. But Chipotle (CMG) said this “collaborative robot” will not eliminate jobs, but, instead, employees will work with the robot to speed up guacamole production. For its design, Chipotle partnered with Vebu Labs, a robotics startup in California, to analyze the preparation process at various Chipotle restaurants and identify the most time-consuming tasks for employees. And Chipotle is already testing “Chippy,” a robotic kitchen assistant that uses artificial intelligence to make tortilla chips to dip in Autocado’s guacamole.

Avocados sliced, cored and peeled by the Autocado robot created by Chipotle and Vebu Labs. The fast-casual chain developed the collaborative robot, or cobot, in partnership with Vebu Labs, a California-based robotics startup. Chipotle Mexican Grill has developed a robot that can cut, core and peel avocados used in its guacamole as the restaurant industry faces a sustained labor shortage. To prepare avocados using the Autocado, Chipotle employees load up the device with a full case of the ripe fruit. Preparing avocados for guacamole routinely ranks as one of employees' least favorite tasks, Garner said.

Avocado prep is one of Chipotle employees' least favorite responsibilities, Curt Garner, Chief Customer and Technology Officer at Chipotle, told CNBC. Chipotle's robot could also help alleviate lingering labor shortages that have swept across the restaurant industry. Last year Chipotle started testing the chip-making robot Chippy, which was intentionally designed to make imperfect tortilla chips. To develop the Autocado robot, Chipotle worked with Vebu Labs, a food industry robotics startup. Future investments could include farming and supply chain innovations, as well as advanced robotics, Chipotle said in a press release.

CNN —Although the so-called “girl dinner” is being popularized by young women promoting throw-together meals on TikTok, it’s in fact an inclusive meal. I’m a middle-aged girl, and this is the style of meal I’ve been calling “snack dinner” for years. The original “girl dinner” TikTok video, posted by Olivia Maher, featured a countertop spread of grapes, cornichons, bread and cheese. There are really no rules for preparing the perfect "girl dinner" — start with your favorite snack elements and expand from there. Your solo snack plate dinner doesn’t have to include bread, cheese or charcuterie if that’s not your personal preference.
